Mini-grants for Teachers
The Jordan Education Foundation's Mini-grants for Teachers program is used to fund a teacher's innovative and creative classroom projects that enrich standard curriculum and directly enhance learning opportunities for students.
Any current full-time teacher in the Jordan School District may apply for a mini-grant. The maximum amount of each mini-grant is $500. Since funds are limited, projects costing less than $500 allow the Foundation to help as many teachers and classrooms as possible. Funding is not avaliable for salaries, honorariums, stipends, travel, field trips, incentive awards or food.
Projects must meet a need and enhance learning and teaching. Past mini-grants have been awarded for the following projects:
- iPhone & iPod applications for special needs students
- Classroom Libraries
- Math Manipulatives
- Student Calculators
- World War II Literature Unit
- Interactive Read-a-Loud Books
- InterWrite Mobi Systems
Applications are accepted each fall and each one is read and judged by our Mini-grant committee made up of JEF Board members.
