Classroom Grant Applications for 2024-2025 are closed.
2025-2026 CLASSROOM GRANTS
Classroom Grants are designed to support teachers in Jordan School District by funding innovative and creative classroom projects that enrich the standard curriculum and directly enhance learning opportunities for students. These grants are ideal for teachers looking to implement unique educational experiences.
Program requirements & guidelines
Applications for Classroom Grants are open from August 1, 2025, to October 15, 2025.
To qualify for funding from the Jordan Education Foundation (JEF), teachers must complete the JEF application. This application is essential for us to identify which grants to fund.
We strongly encourage all teachers to submit their Classroom Grant projects on DonorsChoose to maximize their chances of receiving funding.
While we cannot guarantee that every grant will be funded, submitting your application early can increase your odds.
Grant Eligibility and Funding Details:
-
Teachers may apply only once per year, either individually or as part of a team.
-
JEF provides funding up to $500 per teacher. Teachers can combine individual amounts by applying as a team or department (e.g., three teachers can apply for a grant up to $1,500).
-
Projects exceeding $500 per teacher are not eligible for JEF funding. DonorsChoose processing fees, and suggested donations are not counted towards the $500 maximum.
Eligibility Requirements:
-
Licensed, full-time teachers in the Jordan District (Utah), including those in art, P.E., and music, are eligible to apply.
-
Some exceptions for part-time teachers may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Funding Timeline:
-
All funding decisions will be made by December 15, 2025, or earlier if the budget is exhausted.
Important Guidelines:
-
All items purchased must comply with district guidelines and standards.
-
The following categories are not eligible for funding: salaries, honorariums, professional development, stipends, and educator travel.
Please ensure your application is complete and accurate to facilitate a smooth review process.
Materials
-
If a project is funded through DonorsChoose, DonorsChoose will ship materials directly to your school.
-
If a project is not funded through DonorsChoose, the teacher, or team of teachers will be responsible to order materials through your school's secretary using Jordan District purchasing and accounting procedures.
Ownership Policy
ALL AWARDED MATERIALS ARE SUBJECT TO JORDAN SCHOOL DISTRICT POLICY AND BELONG TO JORDAN SCHOOL DISTRICT - NOT THE AWARDED TEACHER OR TEAM. THE POLICIES OF JORDAN SCHOOL DISTRICT TAKE PRECEDENCE OVER ANY CONFLICTING POLICIES FROM DONORSCHOOSE REGARDING OWNERSHIP.
If a teacher (who has been awarded an individual Classroom Grant) moves to another school within Jordan School District, they may take the grant materials to their new school contingent upon approval from the principal of the school where the materials were originally awarded. Items awarded to a team of teachers stay within the department or grade level team at the school even if one or more of the teachers moves to a different school.
Step-by-Step Application Process
Step 1: Go to donorschoose.org. Create a DonorsChoose account and project. If the grant request is not available/applicable from DonorsChoose, proceed to step 2.
Step 2: Log in to Google using your Jordan District email. Open the JEF Application/Google Form link HERE, complete and submit the JEF application.
Initial preference is given to DonorsChoose projects in order to take advantage of dollar match opportunities offered through DonorsChoose. By taking advantage of these matched dollars, JEF is able to increase the number of grants funded. DonorsChoose projects typically get funded sooner as well.
