It was a wonderful day as we watched a community come together for kids in Jordan District. Approximately 450 middle and high school aged students, who would otherwise go without this holiday season, were gifted a modest shopping spree thanks to wonderful donors and a community that cares about kids and education.
Deserving students are carefully selected by school counselors, administrators and JSD Educational Support Services due to extreme need and personal circumstances.
Donations for this event come from community business leaders, and caring individuals, including Jordan Education Foundation Board Members, Jordan School District Employees and even fellow students!
Firefighters, military, police, business leaders, educators, and caring members of the community volunteers their time early on Saturday morning to shop with students. Both students and chaperones consider this morning a highlight of the year! The positive impact of volunteers is immeasurable. Many chaperones have helped to overcome language barriers going above and beyond to make the shopping experience a truly meaningful and memorable event.
Thank you to all those who gave this holiday season!
